WHAT'S HAPPENING
Thank you to all those who stopped by the Drumhop Booth at Gathering. We enjoyed all the peoples input and good words. Check out our myspace to see some of the customers who dared to take their picture. lol We say that because some people were scared to take thier picture. There are a lot of pictures so give it some time to load. But thanks to all who came to check us out. We will continue to work our hardest to bring powwow fans what they want to hear.
THE NEWEST RELEASE
We couldn't wait to bring you "Ladies Night." This is an album that has brought a lot of excitement to our label. It's a cd dedicated to women singers. It's composed of round dance songs of all styles. Some are sung solo while others are sung as a group. The idea behind this cd came about in a visit with Delia Waskewitch. She told me about some hard times as a lady singer and how others share the same discouragements. So after a lengthy deep conversation, we decided to do this recording. Because often times women are overlooked, discouraged in a way. So we produced this cd to honor them and encourage all women singers to keep singing. This cd is for you! Special thanks to the women who poured their hearts into this recording. It was powerful two days of recording.
POWWOW IDOL
Congratulations to Standing Horse of South Dakota. After a grueling voting war that lasted for many weeks, Standing Horse singers came out as the contest's first winner. Powwow Idol was an contest sponsored by powwows.com. It consisted of a series of rounds. Each round consisted of a theme. Like Intertribal songs, trick songs, crow hop, etc. Each round voted groups off just as American Idol. And one by one they were all voted off until we had Standing Horse vs. Wind Eagle. Congratulations to Wind Eagle also. To be in the final two shows that you have a lot online fan support across powwow america. So keep an eye out for Standing Hose's First CD. It will be a good one!
